Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform with an apparatus: ribbon, hoop, ball, clubs, or rope. It combines elements of gymnastics and dance, including tumbling, leaps, turns, balances, and flexibility. This class, for ages 5-10, will teach apparatus handling skills, primarily with ribbons and hoops. Students will also work on their strength, flexibility, and coordination, while learning a variety of dance and gymnastics skills. Rhythmic gymnasts will perform a routine in the year-end, Broadway-style recital in May.
