Gina Montalto is a dancer and choreographer based out of New York/ New Jersey area. She began her technical training at New Jersey School of Ballet in Livingston, The American Academy of Ballet at SUNY Purchase, and with the Livingston High School Theater Program. Gina transitioned into contemporary and modern dance while studying at Rutgers University and the County College of Morris. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Italian language and literature, Masters of the Art of Teaching Foreign Language and an Associates of Fine Arts in Dance, respectively. Post college; Gina taught Italian at her alma mater while also teaching dance and guest choreographing for several studios in New Jersey. She continued her professional training with New York City’s Broadway Dance Center in their Summer Professional Semester of 2013.

Gina has danced for two contemporary companies – Introspective Movement Project of Philadelphia and Impact Movement Collective of New York City; as well as for many other independent choreographers such as Michelle Thompson Ulerich, Joe Monteleone, Bryan Strimpel, Justina Grayman to name a few.

Gina’s own professional works have also been performed in many showcases in New York City, including: Chen Dance Center’s NewSteps New Choreographer Series, The Moving Beauty Series, Kodafe in NYC, Translate (Voices of Dance), Sans Limites Fall and Spring Showcases, Fertile Ground and many more. Her choreography for students has been recognized and has received choreographic accolades at many Regional and National Dance Competitions in New Jersey.  She choreographed High School Musicals at Livingston and Millburn High School for 8 years and has set pieces and solos on competition dancers throughout New Jersey. Gina is currently Head Choreographer at StarStruck Dance Studio in Stirling NJ and a summer guest choreographer and teacher at Eastside Dance Co in Tom’s River.

Gina is excited to bring her experience and love of dance to Next Step Broadway and hopes to continue to inspire the next generation of dancers and dancemakers!
